Ashley has been a fan of the North Carolina State University Wolfpack since she was old enough to understand sports. Her dad went to State, so she grew up in a Wolfpack household, and grew her love for sports by watching the Pack!

In the Fish household, spirits were high during the Wolfpack’s highs and low during their lows. They often spoke of the 1983 National Championship Wolfpack basketball team, led by legendary Coach Jim Valvano.

Survive and Advance

As 1983 was before Ashley was born, she relived the epic moments via an ESPN Documentary called 30 for 30: Survive and Advance.

She always dreamed of the moment where she could live similar adrenaline rushes to those that the fans of the “Cardiac Pack” lived back in 1983.

The “Cardiac Pack”, Re-Lived

That dream became a reality when the current Men’s Wolfpack Basketball team won five games in five days to out the Carolina Tarheels and win the ACC Tournament.

Living the Dream

This win gave them an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament- the ultimate end all, be all for college basketball players.

The Wolfpack has now made it all the way to the Final Four in both men’s and women’s basketball!!!

On the eve of the beginning of the tournament, Ashley had the honor of speaking to 1983 Wolfpack Basketball great- Dereck Whittenburg.

They discussed the current team, his run to the championship, and of course- Coach Jimmy V.
