Riverside has a comprehensive group of neurologists and neurosurgeons who work together on a plan of action for anyone who has suffered a stroke.

One of the most important ways to be prepared for you or a loved one having a stroke, is to know the signs and symptoms. That way you know what to look for and also what to do!

It only takes ONE of these symptoms to be a sign of a stroke, so call 911 immediately if you or a loved one is experiencing any of these symptoms.

When you call 911 and the ambulance shows up with the team of paramedics, they alert the emergency room that they have a possible stroke victim. The ER team mobilizes and meets the patient next to their CAT scanner. After the scan is done, the doctors can work to intervene and reverse the event as it’s happening.
