The 757 is full of fun things to do during the summer- but they don’t all involve water! One of those things is enjoying the sights and sounds of short track racing at Langley Speedway in Hampton.
Meet Myelih
Patricia got to spend some time at Langley Speedway, getting to know more about one of its’ youngest superstar drivers: Myelih Smith! But first, she spoke to Brian Morehouse- the Education, Public Awareness and Marketing Supervisor for Virginia 811, who just so happens to be one of Myelih’s sponsors.

Brian says the team at Virginia 811 thought partnering with Myelih was a great way for them to get their message out about contacting 811 before you dig!
This is the second year that Virginia 811 has sponsored Myelih, and Brian says it has been a pleasure watching her grow!
She’s HOW old?!
At just 12 years old, Myelih already has a few years of experience under her belt. She had been dreaming of racing cars for a long time. Finally she convinced her dad to buy her one at age 10!
Myelih’s mom says that it’s imperative that kids who drive in these races get a lot of seat time. The only time they get to practice with other cars is out on the track on race days!
