E.D. Marshall Jewelers has been around for more than 45 years. It is a company that not only sells beautiful jewelry, but they also buy jewelry.
Monica visits with appraiser David Nelson to find out more about selling gold and silver. Nelson says it is worth selling if you have gold and silver that is not being used or worn. However, he says it is important to sell it to the right people for the right price. E.D. Marshall buys anything gold or silver; coins, antiques, artifacts and more.
Monica asks Nelson to clarify the difference between what E.D. Marshall Jewelersdoes and a pawn shop. Nelson explains that a pawn shop doesn’t make jewelry and their purpose is not really to sell jewelry. Because E.D. Marshall is in the business of selling and making jewelry, if they purchase a piece that doesn’t sell, it will be transformed into a piece that will sell. Good tips for knowing who you are selling your valuables to would be to check the company out with the BBB, do some research, check with others and find out what they have to say about their experiences. Nelson says to deal with a reputable company. E.D. Marshall has been around since 1971 and they have a great reputation.
A silver tea set catches Monica’s eye and Nelson says it is sterling silver and was purchased because it wasn’t being used anymore. Having it out on display someone will see it and buy it and enjoy it. If it doesn’t sell it can be given new life by melting it down and using the silver to make other things. Occasionally someone inherits a coin collection and they don’t know what to do with it. Nelson explains dimes, quarters and half dollars minted before 1964 are made of silver and can be very valuable for the silver alone. Gold jewelry, like old class rings or ex-boyfriend jewelry are also valuable just for the gold.
All of the E.D. Marshall locations will evaluate pieces and all locations will buy. Nelson says the best thing to do is go to the website edmarshallbuys.com and find the location nearest you. You’ll find locations all over the Valley. Monica asks Nelson about a special offer for viewers and he explains anyone who mentions seeing E.D. Marshall on Arizona Living will get a 3% bonus.
