So often we are bombarded by the bad news and the sadness happening all around the world. It is really important to us at Living 757 to bring you pieces of goodness and joy! One of the ways we do this is through our segment called Hometown Heroes, presented by Bud’s Plumbing, Heating, Air Conditioning and Electric.
Our Hometown Hero
Jason Webb is a Sign Language Interpreter, which happened naturally for him- as he was born to two deaf adults. He learned to sign before he could even talk!
How He is Changing the World
As a Sign Language Interpreter, Jason has gotten to do some pretty cool things. Recently, that includes working with Xbox on their Twitch Stream! He is living every kid’s dream!
In addition to Xbox, Jason works for a company called SignGlasses. Along with the company, he is helping to make public places way more accessible for anyone in the deaf community.
SignGlasses
In a nutshell, a museum that utilizes sign glasses would give the member of the deaf community a pair of glasses. While they explore the museum either an interpreter pops up to help decipher what they’re looking at, or closed captioning can also help in some cases.
