Carseat Safety with the DMV

Sponsored by the Virginia Department of Motor Vehicles

At Living 757 we are all about safety. Our friends at the DMV want to ensure that we are doing everything we can to keep our children safe while we are on the road!

DMV

John Saunders from the DMV spoke to Quincy and answered all his questions about carseat safety! John and the DMV helped bring attention to National Child Passenger Safety Week.

Carseat

It’s imperative for parents and caregivers to make sure that kids are buckled into their carseats, and that they’re buckled in correctly!

DMV

Furthermore, statistics show that a large percentage of child carseats aren’t installed properly. Check your carseat’s user manual for correct installation instructions. You can also go to the DMV’s website to find a list of places you can visit in person to have your carseat install checked.

Carseat

An infant strapped in their carseat is 71% less likely to suffer fatality, and a toddler correctly fastened into their carseat is 54% more likely to survive.

Safety

Making sure that children are in the correct safety seat is also really important. The right fit provides the best chance for survival in an accident.
