Walker the Facility Dog Helps Residents at Warwick Forest

Sponsored By: Invisible Fence Brand of Hampton Roads

This month’s Pet Corner is brought to you by Invisible Fence Brand of Hampton Roads.

Garnet Gilmore and her adorable helper Walker join Ashley and Patricia to share Walker’s work as a facility dog.

A facility dog is a dog is placed in healthcare settings, educational settings and even courtroom settings to help with therapeutic exercises such as opening doors and carrying baskets.

At Warwick Forest, walker is described as “Everyone’s dog”.  His main job is to help residents feel more independent.

New call-to-action

Walker works with recreational therapists to assist residents with tasks such as grocery shopping and laundry.

With a 40 hour work week, Walker has a heavier workload than many therapy dogs.

His help not only makes many tasks easier for the residents, he can help provide relief from stress and anxiety.

Al of that is wrapped up in an adorable furry package making Walker the perfect solution for Warwick Forest.

We all love our pets and do our best to keep them safe.  For information on Invisible Fences cutting-edge solutions to your furry friends’ needs, make sure to contact them at (757) 595-5657, or check out their website www.invisiblefence.com
