It’s the holiday season, and time to open our hearts to those in need. Meals on Wheels in Virginia Beach does just that.
For many homebound residents who are alone and need prepared meals, can truly be a lifesaver. Especially at this time, when many people are home alone for the holiday season.
Recently, Meals on Wheels has partnered with KinderCare to help provide a special emotional touch with hand decorated bags for the meals and greeting cards which are added to the bags.
But it’s not just about the meals. Many of the homebound clients do not have family around and are missing a personal connection.
Just a few moments of friendly conversation a day from the Meals and Wheels volunteers makes a huge difference for the clients and relieve some of that loneliness that is felt so tremendously -especially during the holidays.
