Living 757 Episode 117

Happy New Year, Hampton Roads!

We welcome 2020 with open arms and are eager to start this new year off on the right foot, so we have an awesome show for you today! We are bringing you traditions, food, a little magic and an amazing performance that you won’t want to miss!

But first, our hosts kick it off with a recap of their 2019 and by speaking their resolutions for 2020 into existence. Be sure to show us how you celebrated across the 757 by sharing your pictures with us at Share@Living757.com for your chance to be on our next show!

Next we welcome back Lisa Davenport of Coastal Virginia Magazine, here to discuss the Coastal Virginia Magazine Wine Fest! This event will be held for 2 days at the Virginia Beach Convention Center at the end of January. Not only is this Wine Fest indoors, but there will also be craft beers and craft vendors available, as well as a live performance by Buckshot! This is one event you won’t want to miss!

Now we all know that food plays a huge part of New Year Day, so we invited Chef Cocoa Black to drop by and recreate a traditional American New Year meal. Chef created collards, black eyed peas and a ham steak! Check out this dish if you are looking to stick to tradition and bring in 2020 with a meal that is sure to hype those taste buds!

Patricia then brings us to Duck, North Carolina for a visit to the Sanderling Resort! The temps may be low, but Sanderling is still hot! Check out their luxurious offerings, from the spa to the fire pits and the restaurants. If you are looking for a place to relax and unwind this new year, right on the beach and surrounded by the serenity of nature, then the Sanderling is a must!

With the Christmas season complete, where will the shopping enthusiasts spend their hours?! At the Selden Market of course! Located in Norfolk, the Selden Market is packed with events, local and ever changing vendors and food offerings as well! Check it out…

Our next guest had a few tricks up his sleeve while entertaining our hosts. Nomo the Magician stopped by the studio to demonstrate a few card tricks for Patricia, Ashley and Quincy. Let’s just say, we don’t know how he pulled off his tricks, but he has us believing in magic! See for yourself.

Finally, we send you off with the pop, punk, soul vibes of BJ Griffin and Jason Brown. This unique and extremely talented duo will have you swaying to the rhythm of their song, “On My Mind.”

Thank you for tuning in and spending the start of your New Year with us, and we look forward to the many more adventures we embark on together in 2020!

Until next time, Hampton Roads!
