We are always pleased to bring you another segment of Fish Out Of Water- where the Living 757 producers put Ashley in situations that she wouldn’t normally find herself in!
Fish Out Of Water
This time, Fish Out of Water has lead Ashley to the Princess Anne Courthouse Volunteer Rescue Squad. Ashley is going to learn the ropes of being a volunteer at the rescue squad, while doing a ride along- in an ambulance!
Ashley meets Chris Daly, the Admin Captain of the Volunteer Rescue Squad. He gets her a t-shirt, and explains that they are going to show her the ropes of patient care.
Since Chris is a volunteer, Ashley asks him what motivates him to get out of bed and come in for a shift. He says it’s the satisfaction of knowing he has helped people. All of the volunteer training is provided by the city.
Recruiting can be difficult since they are all volunteers. But the personal sense of accomplishment and joy after helping people on your shift, makes it all worth it.
Chris receives a call that there is a patient having cardiac symptoms, and they are off to save the day!
Watch the entire video to see all of the patient care, and to see Ashley work the lights and sirens!
Thank you so much to The Princess Anne Courthouse Volunteer Rescue Squad, for having Ashley on this ride along!!!
