Empower Our Girls with Girls on the Run

Sponsored By: Bud's Plumbing, Heating, Air Conditioning & Electric

This week’s Hometown Heroes segment is brought to us by Bud’s Heating, Plumbing, Air Conditioning & Electric.

Stephanie DeWald joins Quincy on the show today to share what Girls On the Run is and how they are helping young girls.  The “tween” years can be especially difficult for young girls and Girls on the Run recognizes this.

Girls on the Run seeks to empower young girls to be their best, and strongest selves by providing lessons and support in the areas of emotional, physical, behavioral and social skills.

New call-to-action

Studies show that their is a direct connection between physical activity and mental health, but did you know that when physical activity is combined with lessons and learning, that information is retained more easily and for a longer period of time.

Lessons such as conflict resolution are taught throughout the program which culminates in a 5k at the end of the program.  If you don’t live in Hampton Roads, not to worry, you can find Girls on the Run programs nationwide!
