Explore Providence, RI’s Haunted History With a Providence Ghost Tour

The Providence Ghost Tour is more than just a walk in the park.  You will do some walking and your guide Courtney Edge-Mattos (aka Ghost Mom) will talk about her favorite subject; ghosts.

That’s right ghosts.

Walking on the wild side is just another day at the office for you.  But ghosts? For real?  How many have you seen?

Over the years, I would say about a dozen or so.

You met your first ghost when you were age 2. But, what about your most recent encounter? What can you tell us about it?

A couple of years ago, my husband and I traveled to Eureka Springs, AR.  We booked a stay at the Crescent Hotel and Spa.  I didn’t know anything about the hotel, and I didn’t expect to find ghosts.  We had a couple of encounters there.  I’m not sure the name of the spirits.

When you meet a ghost do you interact?

Absolutely, I have acknowledged their presence. If they want to engage I will.  However, there are times, I tell them to leave me alone.

Does everyone see ghosts?

I don’t think everyone sees ghosts and I’m not sure why.  I don’t know if they are not open to it, or why they don’t see them.

What do most people say about your tours after they have taken one?

Most people are surprised about how many ghosts are around Providence and they are taken by the history of our town.

The Providence Ghost Tour is about to wrap up for this year, but what are the plans for 2021?

We will wait to see how things are going.

Generally, we run through the summer, most nights and then in the fall we do the tours on weekends up to December.  We’ll just have to wait and adapt accordingly in 2021.
