The bar is set pretty high for McDonogh 35 Receiver Lawrence Keys. Recruiting expert Lee Brecheen views Keys as “one of the best skill guys in the slot that you’ll see play.”

“Expectations are very high for me as an athlete. They’re expecting me to do great things on the field and also off the field,” explains Keys.

But Lawrence isn’t letting those lofty expectations get to his head. He’s still putting in the work to get to where he wants to be.

“When you’re on the field, work hard, do everything. Don’t cheat yourself. Do everything you need to do because it all catches back up to you.”

The Next Level

Lawrence’s hard work has paid off and he’s getting noticed by some of the top colleges in the country. He has 33 offers including Notre Dame, Alabama, Oklahoma, Michigan and LSU.

“I’m actually preparing myself right now on this level to get myself ready for college. Because I know once you get from this level to that level it’s a whole other step in life.”
