Narragansett Students Spin the Wheel of Misfortune

By Walter Laskos

Spin the “Wheel of Misfortune” and learn what fate has in store for you and your financial wellbeing. Will you be paying a hospital bill or winning a lottery?

Narragansett High School students took the wheel out for a spin during a recent CU 4 Reality Fair, hosted by Westerly Community Credit Union. For many the spin contributed to profound financial consequences, and for others, a dramatic new lifestyle.

A CU 4 Reality Fair is an exercise in financial reality, giving its participants a real-life wake up call to costs associated with owning a home, a car, buying groceries – essentially, all of life’s daily expenses. Based on their choice of careers, Narragansett HS students had to face the challenges of paying bills, developing a budget, meeting life’s challenges, and even saving for a rainy day.
