Escambia vs. Rummel Football 9-8-18

The Escambia Gators from Pensacola, Florida traveled to Metairie, Louisiana for an interstate battle between two high school football powerhouses.

The Rummel Raiders, led by Junior Quarterback and University of Louisiana at Lafayette Commit, Chandler Fields, took the early lead in this matchup as Fields found the end zone on an 18-yard TD run with 7:52 remaining in the 1stQuarter.

A set of miscues for the Escambia Gators stifled drives early in the 2ndquarter. With 10:21 remaining in the 2ndquarter the Gators botched a snap that led to a safety. Later in the frame, the Gators fumbled in the Red Zone giving up their first real scoring opportunity.

The second half proved to be a different story for both squads. With 6:55 remaining in the 3rdquarter the Escambia Gators found the end zone with a 12-yard TD pass from Junior Quarterback AV Smith to Junior Receiver, Deterius Gideon.

In the fourth quarter the Gators managed to take their first lead of the game as Sophomore Wide Receiver, Jaylen Blackmon scampered 40 Yards for the TD.

The Rummel Raiders showed signs of life later in the fourth with a 54-yard TD Pass that was called back due to a penalty. The Raiders never recovered in the 2ndhalf.

In the end, the Escambia Gators proved to be too much for the Rummel Raiders in this matchup. The Gators, now 3-0 walk away with the 20-8 victory over the Rummel Raiders. The Rummel Raiders are now 1-1 on the season.
