There’s a new sheriff in town and his name is Bryce Young. Young and the Monarch’s of Mater Dei rode into Peoria, Arizona on a hot September night and hung 71 points against the Centennial Coyotes – one of Arizona’s premier football programs. The final score was a lopsided 71-21.

The Monarch’s offense, led by Young, could not be stopped all night. The USC Commit showed again and again why he’s one of, if not the best dual-threat quarterback in the nation.

Young threw for a whopping 528 yards, breaking the previous school passing record of 469 yards by current USC quarterback JT Daniels. He added a record-tying 7 touchdowns and 31-37 in passing attempts.

Here’s a highlight snapshot of Bryce Young’s record-setting performance:

After the big win at Centennial, Mater Dei’s remaining schedule is brutal.  Next up for the Monarchs will be another tough game on the road against #2 ranked St. Frances Academy (Baltimore, MD). The following week they stay on the road against another top 20 team – St. John’s (Washington, DC).

That doesn’t even include the huge intrastate rivalry game in late October against #3 ranked St. John Bosco.

One thing is for sure, with Bryce Young at the helm, the Mater Dei Monarchs will be a very difficult team to beat.
