Cranston East Vocational Programs Prepare Students for Real Life

Discipline. Respect. Responsibility. Self-Awareness. Leadership. These real life skills are the foundation that has built  the award-winning JROTC program at Cranston High School East. Annually one of the top programs throughout Rhode Island, JROTC is just one of the many diverse curricula offered through Cranston East’s vocational school.

In addition to the core educational programs and academic training high school students typically receive, East is offering members of the Thunderbolt student body an opportunity to learn and focus on technical skills through its vocational school. Students attending the vocational school will be prepared for a specific trade. In addition to JROTC, East recently added Criminal Justice and Plumbing to its lineup, which also includes Robotics, Residential construction, Child Development, Culinary, Medical Pathways and more.

Each program within East’s Vocational School aims to teach its students how to successfully navigate life and provides hands-on training. These real life skills programs will prepare the students for entry into the workforce upon graduation.

Vocational and trade schools prepare a person for the job market. With experience and hands-on training throughout their high school career, East’s vocational students are ready to begin a career in their technical field immediately upon graduation.
