Friday’s Yurview Louisiana high school football matchup features a pair of New Orleans schools in St. Augustine and Jesuit. The Purple Knights (2-1) travel to Jesuit (1-2) who look to get to .500 on the season at 6:30pm CT on Yurview Louisiana for customers of Cox Communications and streaming live on Yurview.com.
Experience vs History
The Blue Jays have returned a lot of players in 2017, although not a lot of experience, after graduating a number of key contributors. Meanwhile, Al Jones’ St. Augustine has a history of graduating players…and then sending them to college and beyond. Leonard Fournette and Tyrann Mathieu are just a couple of the players who went from St. Aug to LSU and then to the NFL.

Quarterback is Key
Coach Mark Songy has Alex Watermeier heading the Blue Jays offense, and his physical traits at 6’4″ likely have him pegged for the college game. On the other side of the field, the Purple Knights are dealing with a glut of injuries at the most important position on the field. They’re down to their third string QB, making them rely on their other offensive skill positions and defense to lead the team.
Players to Watch
DL Dante Carter – St. Augustine
You don’t get the nickname ‘Baby Sapp’ for no reason. The 360 lb. nose tackle is Nicholls State commit who is a physical force who can gum up Jesuit’s run game or collapse the pocket on Watermeier.

TE Drew Black – Jesuit
The 6’4″ tight end is a big target for the Jesuit quarterback and can be a safety valve for the offense.
RB Garland LaFrance – St. Augustine
St. Augustine’s back will play his college ball at Texas Tech, and he’s been focused since the preseason.
Locked in all season …⛓.

DE/LB Kyle Jackson – St. Augustine
The senior is a playmaker for the Purple Knights.
CB Michael Hull – Jesuit
He makes his name on special teams and may be the difference in a close game.
You can watch St. Augustine and Jesuit on Yurview Louisiana and on Yurview.com on September 22 at 6:30pm CT.
