2018 Cox Student Heroes for Okaloosa County

Congratulations to the 2018 Cox Inspirational Student Heroes for Okaloosa County, Florida. On Wednesday, May 16th, over 250 came to celebrate a special group of children at Cox Communications annual Inspirational Student Hero Awards in Niceville.

Cox recognized 31 students from Okaloosa County who have overcome extreme challenges in life to serve as an inspiration to their teachers, administrators and fellow students.

The Cox Inspirational Student Hero Awards program began 25 years ago in New Orleans, Louisiana.  The program has spread to other Cox markets in the Southeast Region.  To date, Cox has recognized more than 4,000 students from Lafayette, Louisiana, to Gainesville, Florida.

The students were chosen by a committee of leaders at their school.  During the event, Cox presented the students with an engraved medal and certificates of honor from Cox, Congressman Matt Gaetz, State Senator Doug Broxson and State Representative Mel Ponder.

This Cox Inspirational Heroes award signifies that anyone can overcome almost any challenge in life.  Once again, congratulations to this year’s Cox student heroes in Okaloosa County and thanks for being truly inspirational.
