The McDowell Conservancy remains dedicated to our passion: Nature up close and personal for all to enjoy.
The Conservancy has made great strides in protecting our Sonoran Desert and McDowell Mountains from urban encroachment. They also develop a wide range of programs designed to enrich visitors’ time while visiting the preserve. They lead narrated hikes, bike tours, equestrian outings and in-depth lectures about the preserve’s unique geology, biology and human history.
Their role has evolved over the past 25 years from an advocacy group to a science based stewardship organization with an eye on ensuring the future of the preserve.
The overall goal is that future generations will be able to enjoy this ecological treasure the same way we do today.
