Centennial defeated Pinnacle 23-20 in The YurView Game of the Week thanks in large part to the punishing running of Zidane Thomas. Zidane had 27 rushes for 316 yards leading Centennial to a 4-0 mark on the season.

Centennial only had 18 yards passing but they didn’t need them as The Coyotes ran for 394 on the ground, 316 of those for Zidane himself.

After the game, YurView’s Chris Harris (@ChrisHarrisAZ) sang the running back’s praises. “This kid is very special.” The Boise State commit broke tackles and stiff armed his way through Pinnacles front 4 and into their secondary all night, punishing defenders who looked to get in his way.

Superhero Strength

Dale Hellestrae was amazed by how effortless Thomas’s stiff arms looked. “He’s almost like one of those superheroes where he sticks his arm out and then people fall down.”

The 5’10” 210 pound running back showed the strength that allows him to squat 550 pounds as he continuously pushed forward for yards after contact, finding the end zone twice to keep Centennial undefeated.

On top of all his accomplishments on the field, his off the field demeanor is getting some positive attention as well. “At the end of the day, probably what is most enjoyable for me is what a good kid he is,” said Hellestrae. “As humble as they come.”
