Ironwood vs. Centennial Football (Replay) 10-19-19

Watch a full game replay of Ironwood vs. Centennial (Arizona) high school football – Friday, October 19th, 2019.

Legendary coach Richard Taylor and the defending 5A state champion Centennial Coyotes hosted the Ironwood Eagles in Peoria on Friday night.

Both defenses looked sharp in a scoreless first quarter. To begin the second quarter, Centennial converted a fourth down deep in Ironwood territory. The drive was capped off with 3 yard receiving touchdown by sophomore running back Chris Tasby giving the Coyotes a 7-0 lead. That score would open the flood gates offensively for Centennial as they would add 5 more touchdowns in the quarter.

Senior Eric Haney would rush for a 13 yard score to push the lead 14-0. Ironwoods next possession would end in a punt attempt. A botched snap would give the Coyotes great starting field possession and led to a 15 yard rushing touchdown by junior running back Daxon Lindholm.

Centennials defense dominated in every way. The Coyotes stifled Ironwoods 3-star dual threat quarterback William Haskell with consistent pressure. Junior defensive end DJ Gleash intercepted Haskell once again giving Centennial great starting field position. Senior Dyelan Miller pushed the lead to 28-0 with a 3 yard touchdown run. The Coyotes finished the second with a 7 yard touchdown run by senior Jaydin Young and a spectacular one-handed 11 yard touchdown reception by senior Andre Dimbiti. The catch was one of the top plays of the year and brought up comparisons to Odell Beckham Jr.’s infamous one handed snag.

To close out the second quarter, Ironwood was giving an un-timed down as a result of a Centennial penalty. The Eagles attempted a deep pass down the field but Haskell had his arm pulled on the play and did not play another snap in the second half.

Both teams agreed to a running clock in the second half. Centennial would add another score behind an 18 yard touchdown run by junior Jacob Leica.

Centennial marches their way towards a top ranking in the open division playoff format and faces off against Kellis next Friday. Ironwood looks to regroup next week when they travel to Sunnyslope.
