Council Bluffs Thomas Jefferson vs Council Bluffs Abraham Lincoln: What You Need to Know

jefferson vs. lincoln

For both Lincoln and Jefferson, this season hasn’t gone as planned. Entering this week, these two programs own a combined 3-14 record.

But that won’t matter much when these two crosstown foes square off in one of the final games of the season.

The game will be broadcast live on YurView Omaha for customers of Cox Communications and will also stream live on Yurview.com.

Playing for Pride

Lincoln comes in at 1-7, and Jefferson isn’t much better with a 2-7 record, but this series always entertains. It should have some extra spice this October with Jefferson routing Lincoln last season, 33-8.

However, Lincoln has dominated the series recently, winning four of the last five matchups against Jefferson since 2013.

Although they have won only once, with a victory this week, Lincoln would actually surpass its win total from last season. They captured their lone win of the season last week with a 30-16 victory against Des Moines North.

Jefferson also beat Des Moines North this season. That win came two weeks ago, and Jefferson knocked off Sioux City North in Week 2 as well.

Players to Watch

RB Cameron Baker – Jefferson

The 6-foot-2 senior is a terrific running back, but he also plays middle linebacker. He excels at both, and it’s unclear what position he will play in college.

247Sports lists him as an athlete and ranks him the ninth-best Iowa player in the 2019 class. Baker has received offers from Iowa, Indiana, Northern Iowa and North Dakota State.

QB Sean Lorenzen – Lincoln

The senior signal caller is a dual threat for Lincoln. Coming into this season, he was the team’s returning leader in passing and rushing yards.

How to Watch

Watch Lincoln vs Jefferson at 7:00pm CT on October 19th on Yurview Omaha for customers of Cox Communications or live on YurView.com.
