Game Info

This week’s featured game is a first-round Class 5A matchup in the 2020 LHSAA Football Playoffs: #18 East St. John Wildcats vs. #15 Woodlawn Panthers – Friday, November 27 at 7:00 pm CT.

How to watch: East St. John vs Woodlawn

As Ken Trahan notes in his 5A breakdown, we’ve only seen the Panthers in four games this season. Even compared to the Wildcats six, four games is a pretty small stage on which to judge a team. That said, they have had some impressive performances even in a loss such as the one to Catholic BR last week.

With East St. John off the field for the last two weeks, the team will be well rested coming into this matchup.

Only a Sophomore, his regular season stats include 106 carries for 680 yards and eight touchdowns.

Lanard Harris – DB/FS. 5′ 11″ 185 lbs. Woodlawn

With an offer from the Ragin’ Cajuns, Harris is proving to be the kind of utility player every team needs. Aside from being a smart and aggressive back, he also returns kicks.

Rickie Collins – QB. 6′ 3″ 180 lbs. Woodlawn

In a shortened sophomore season, Collins is being recognized by those in the know as a talent to look out for.

Dezaray Delmore Jr. DB. 5′ 10″ 160 lbs. Woodlawn

The folks at Recruit Louisiana say that Delmore started on the Varsity squad as a Freshman. They call him a “fisty DB that can play multiple positions in the secondary, cat like skills, reads/reacts quickly, all over the field looking to make the play, true student of the game at his position, always striving to perfect his craft.”

The winner of this matchup will go on to face either John Ehret or Thibodaux in the second round.
