Keep Your Cool

JR & Vanessa continue to shelter in place for the latest episode of Su Vida and showcase  “cool” things and places.

First up the historic Hotel Valley Ho. Originally opened on December 20, 1956, Hotel Valley Ho has classically cool roots and stands as a modernist icon in Downtown Scottsdale. Reopened on December 20, 2005, Hotel Valley Ho shines brighter than ever and has been named “one of the best-preserved mid-century hotels in the country”.

Now for some “cool” tunes by Fayuca, who made a return performance on Su Vida. Fayuca is a reggae/rock/punk/ska band from the growing reggae scene in Arizona. Like many great bands, the members of Fayuca met in high school and have been performing since 2003.

The music performances continue with Marissa Ronstadt when she performed at Phoenix’s historic, Orpheum Theater.

Chicanos Por La Causa President and CEO, David Adame and Su Vida host, JR Cardenas discuss how CPLC is responding to the needs of the community in light of the covid-19 virus. David also pays tribute to the passing of longtime board member, Raymond Salazar.

Misadventure Vodka & Co was distilling one of the first sustainable vodkas in the U.S., but after Covid 19 and the Shelter in Place order they had to pivot their business in a whole new direction.

Tim Lowery is an air brush artist creating his masterpieces from scratch.

That’s it for this episode of Su Vida. Stay Safe!
