It’s the Best. Summer. Ever. At Fairmont Scottsdale Princess

undefined

Ice cream cones, cannonballs, sunshine, sandcastles and spending time with family: what’s your favorite summer memory? This year, make it your best summer ever at the Fairmont Scottsdale Princess. Now through Labor Day, this AAA Five Diamond play-cation paradise is the perfect backdrop for families to make memories to last a lifetime. Summer weekends bring cool rides down waterslides, wiggling toes in the sugar white sand of Sunset Beach, plus H2/Glow nighttime pool parties, Dive In movies, virtual reality roller coasters, Mermaid University, pirate treasure hunts and fishing derbies at the lagoon with Ranger Rick, with most activities being complimentary for overnight guests.

Capture the Moments: Meet the Instagram Concierge

To capture vacation memories, the Fairmont Scottsdale Princess’ new Instagram Concierge has curated a photo tip sheet for the ideal locations, composition, time of day, filters and app recommendations to take the best shots. Guests can pose at six fun new “instagrammable” summer backdrops, which are larger-than-life art installations featuring a giant Adirondack chair, beach ball, flip flops and suntan lotion, popsicles, a lemonade stand, a “Best. Summer. Ever.” mural in Princess Plaza and an enormous “Catch of the Day” fish display at the lagoons. Or, guests staying at the Princess can schedule a 45-minute portrait session with Studio M, the resort’s on-site professional photographers.

More Fairmont Friends to Meet and Greet

Everyone loves meeting Bixby and Gibbs, the adoring canine ambassadors who greet guests in the resort lobby and have their own children’s book, “The Adventures of Bixby and Gibbs.” Another favorite friend is Cecil, the resort’s desert tortoise in his habitat near Canyon Lawn and La Hacienda. At the lagoons, nature walks and fishing derbies are fun with Ranger Rick, who introduces families to the flora and fauna of the Southwest. At Hawk Talk, guests can meet the feathered friends of Fairmont and learn about hawks and falcons from the Sonoran Desert Falconry experts.

Cool Spots Kids Love

With water, water everywhere, pools are the place to be and the Princess has six, from its largest and newest Sunset Beach, to the dueling waterslides at Sonoran Splash. These family pools have games from the Fun team, sudsy new foam parties, popular Dive In movies and the H2/Glow parties after dark with fog, lasers, a new interactive Catch the Light game and DJ Splash on weekends. The Trailblazers Recreation Center is a complimentary, indoor family fun zone with BEAM interactive floor games, virtual reality rollercoasters, ping pong, pool table and more. Kids also stay cool when they each receive a free Summer at the Princess ball cap at the children’s check-in desk.

For the Big Kids

Sonoran Landing pool is a grown-ups-only oasis with floating bean bags, oversized swan rafts and is surrounded by plush day beds. Refreshing summer poolside cocktails include the Cocojito (made with coconut rum, lime, mint and pineapple), the Tropical Bull Margarita (tequila, lime, agave, mango and upside down Red Bull), Frosé All Day (wine, raspberry, vodka and mango) and Ocean Water (coconut whiskey, blue curacao and citrus soda). Another great escape is Well&Being Spa with a number of rejuvenating treatments and fun, new fitness classes like wall yoga or Float Fit paddleboard yoga at the rooftop pool. Golfers can play like a pro at the famed TPC Scottsdale in the resort’s own backyard. Afterward, summer tasting menus and hand-crafted cocktails can be found at any of the resort’s top-rated restaurants: Toro Latin Restaurant & Rum Bar, Bourbon Steak, La Hacienda or Ironwood American Kitchen.

Celebrating Summer Holidays

Fireworks light up the night every Saturday all summer long with extended displays on holiday weekends. Fourth of July Freedom Fest celebrates America, June 29 – July 4, with concerts on the Lagoon Lawn by the Spazmatics playing music of the ’80s (July 2), the Bruno Mars tribute band Uptown Funk (July 3) and MJ Live, a Michael Jackson tribute band (July 4), along with the All Veterans Parachute Team and a vintage air show (July 4). Then, as summer sails into the sunset, Fairmont Scottsdale’s Labor Day Dreamcation weekend (August 31 – September 3) waves bon voyage by transforming the resort into a cruise ship headed to the Hawaiian Islands with traditional luaus and hula dancers.
