District Championship at Stake
Regular season games don’t get much bigger than this, as both Burke and Bellevue West are at 7-1. The Bulldogs will be on the road, but that doesn’t mean they’ll be the underdogs in this one. They shutout Lincoln North 30-0 last week. Meanwhile, there was a little more scoring in the Thunder Birds upset loss to Westside, their first loss of the season.

About That Shootout
Is shootout even the right word to describe the Bellevue West vs Westside game? It was more like that scene from Independence Day when the aliens invade Earth, as Westside kept scoring, and The Thunder Birds kept fitting back, eventually losing 73-62 in the highest scoring Class A high school football game on Nebraska history.
