Broken Arrow vs Westmoore: What You Need to Know

broken arrow

The Ford Game of the Week on Friday is a high school football matchup between Broken Arrow and Westmoore. Westmoore is 5-0 on the season, while Broken Arrow hasn’t been able to close out games and is 1-4. The game can be seen on Friday October 6th at 7:00pm CT on Yurview Oklahoma for customers of Cox Communications and will also be streamed live at Yurview.com.

Ground or Air?

Westmoore has had little trouble moving the ball this season, both on the ground or through the air. Last week vs Edmond Memorial, the Jaguars had 222 yards rushing. They also threw four touchdowns, making defenses have to choose which is more important to defend – run or pass. So far, they haven’t chosen right, as Westmoore has scored no less than 34 points in any game and has put up more than 50 or more points three times.

Horseshoes and Hand Grenades

Although they haven’t put it together for a full game many times, the Tigers have really only been blown out by Owasso. Last week vs Jenks, they were tied heading into the fourth quarter. They also fumbled inside their opponent’s ten yard line twice. They’ve lost two games by single digits. Despite their four losses, the enthusiasm is still there for Broken Arrow and their fan base.

Braxton’s the Name…or is it Bohrofen?

It’s actually both. Braxton is the first name of Westmoore’s quarterback and also its running back. Braxton George, the RB, had three touchdown runs last week. Two of them were 40-plus yards. Braxton Bohrofen is the QB who threw 3 TD’s last week – and caught another. The other Bohrofen, brother Jace, took a reverse and chucked it downfield to his QB brother, who juked and Edmond defender and raced to the pylon for a 55-yard score. Brother-to-brother to the house – is that the definition of backyard football or what?

Players to Watch

QB Braxton Bohrofen – Westmoore

Maybe he’ll run one in this week.

WR Matt Kaiser – Broken Arrow

Kaiser had eight catches for 173 yards and a score last week vs Jenks.

RB Noah Cortes – Broken Arrow

He ran for 168 yards on only 21 carries last week, and the Tigers would love to get him going again.

RB Braxton George – Westmoore

The running back on the other side of the field, he gets his share of touches…and touchdowns.
