🏈  Monday, Oct. 18, 2021 – New England GameTime

New England high school football: Central Knights vs Bishop Hendricken Hawks – Monday, October 18 at 7:00 pm ET (6:00 pm CT).

Preview: Central vs. Hendricken: Battle Of Spring’s Champions

It’s a matchup pitting one team that won the 2021 “Fall II” state championship vs. the team that won the 2021 Division I “Fall II” title. Don’t miss a special Monday GameTime as Central takes on Bishop Hendricken, brought to you by Greenwich Bay Brokers.

The Hawks are fielding a first-year starter at quarterback for the third time in as many seasons in senior David Lynch. His main recievers: Sr Peter Bibby threatens to take it to the house every time he catches a pass, while classmate Andrew Noland is as steady as they get.

Hendricken also counts on senior Andrew Picard. On the ground, Senior Kamalie Pemberton teams up with fellow 12th grader Synsere Fernandes to give Hendricken some speed and power. Brandyn Durand is more known as a defensive force, yet he can also bring it whether he’s charging out of the backfield or lining up at receiver.

Also a two-time All-State selection at defensive end, Durand figures to go down as one of the most decorated football players in Hendricken history. He’s committed to Kentucky to play baseball.

Central High is the #3 ranked team in Division I-A. Their only loss of the season was a 13-12 heartbreaker to South Kingstown two weeks ago. The Knights play suffocating defense – two of their three wins this season left their opponents completely scoreless. Defensive Back Prince Kweh is averaging 10.5 tackles per game.

Offensive movers and shakers include Theron Zarwea, who had over 100 yards rushing and 2 touchdowns against Cranston West last week. Cornerback Judah Varfley brings the speed you’d expect from an athlete who made All-State in Track.
