Game Preview
A special Saturday afternoon edition of the Ford Game of the Week as Edmond Santa Fe takes on Westmoore in a 6A-I District 1 matchup – Saturday, October 3rd at 1:00 pm CT. The Wolves (2-2) are currently ranked #5 in 6A-I, while the Jaguars (2-1) are just behind at #6.

The Westmoore Jaguars haven’t played a game since September 11th. Last week, they had to cancel their scheduled game with Broken Arrow due to COVID-19. The Jaguars opened the season with a 27-20 loss to Midwest City but followed that up with back to back wins over Moore (30-14) and Southmoore (34-27).

Edmond Santa Fe has clawed back to even their record at 2-2. This week they played a rare Monday night game and defeated Edmond Memorial 46-20 to win the Edlam battle. The Wolves hope to continue moving up the 6A-I standings, and they have a lot of good players to help them.

Players to Watch

The Jaguars are led by senior QB Dayton Wolfe. Against Southmoore, Wolfe threw for 321 yards/4 TD’s to defeat the Sabercats 34-27. Wolfe also caught a touchdown in the game.

Protecting Wolfe and anchoring the Westmoore offensive line is 6’5″/300 lb senior OT Garret Humann. He’s received offers from several schools including Lamar and Central Arkansas.

Keep an eye on Santa Fe’s junior WR Talyn Shettron (6’3/180 lbs). He’s rated by ESPN as the #1 WR in the country and #1 top Oklahoma recruit overall for the 2022 class. Last season, Shettron had 858 receiving yards and 9 TD’s. He’s being pursued by a lot of top D1 schools including Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Texas and Auburn.

Shettron isn’t the only talented player for the Wolves. Senior WR/DB Angelo Rankin committed to Navy earlier this year and received offers from Air Force, Cornell, and Dartmouth.

Santa Fe Senior RB Ethan Hyche leads the Wolves ground game. He rushed for 167 yards and three touchdowns in Monday’s game against Edmond Memorial.

The Santa Fe defense is led by senior 3-star LB Collin Oliver (6’2″/220 lbs). Oliver is a Oklahoma State commit and 247 Sports has him as the #5 ranked prospect in this year’s senior class in Oklahoma.
