We’ve got a good one this week! A battle of top-ranked Class 6AI teams on the Ford Game of the Week: Broken Arrow vs. Jenks – Friday, October 2nd at 7:30 pm CT. Both teams come into the game with 2-1 records. The Trojans are currently ranked #2 in 6A-I and the Tigers are just behind them at #3.

Ready for a Rumble

The Broken Arrow Tigers and Jenks Trojans come into the game well-rested and ready to rumble. The last game for both teams was September 11th. Last week, they canceled games due to COVID-19. This will be Broken Arrow’s first road game of the season, and the outcome will have big implications for the rest of the season in 6A-I.

Jenks comes in with wins over Har-ber (Springdale, AR) and Union. Their only loss was a 42-35 shootout with #1 ranked Bixby. The Trojans hope to get back on the winning track after losing three straight to the Tigers. Before that, Jenks had won 13 of 15 games.

Broken Arrow opened the season with two straight wins over Bentonville West and Union. Their only loss was 32-6 against Owasso, the #1 team in 6A-I. Last year, the Tigers edged the Trojans 17-15 by denying a two-point conversion on the final play of the game.

Players to Watch

The Broken Arrow offense is led by QB Jake Raines. According to the Tulsa World, Raines has passed for 438 yards and 3 touchdowns on the season. Broken Arrow loves to run the ball and they have 4-star junior RB/CB Maurion Horn leading the charge.

In three games, Horn has 327 yards rushing/3 TD’s. He acquired 190 of those yards and two touchdowns in week one against Bentonville West. Horn has offers from Arkansas, Michigan State, Kansas Baylor and Nebraska.

The primary throwing target for Raines is RJ Spears-Jennings with 11 receptions for 247 yards and two touchdowns.

Jenks QB Stephen Kittleman has thrown for an impressive 555 yards and six touchdowns. The Trojans are a threat to run with a talented offense that features senior RB Grant Lohr, 283 yards rushing and four touchdowns this season. Other weapons for Kittleman include Jayden Patrick who caught a touchdown, threw for a touchdown and intercepted a pass against Union in the Backyard Bowl.

The Trojans offensive line is led by 6’6″/260 lb. senior OT Logan Nobles. The 3-star Nobles has committed to Oklahoma State.
