Preview

The Deer Creek Antlers go on the road to face the Southmoore Sabercats in a non-conference matchup.  This will be the season opener for the Antlers due to a postponement last weekend against Edmond North.

Keep an eye on #73 for the Antlers.  Junior OT Jake Sexton is considered one of the top offensive lineman in the state and stands at an imposing 6’6″/305 lbs. Senior kicker Logan Ward is Preseason Oklahoma All-State and made 9-of-11 field goals last season with a long of 55 and converted all 32 of his extra-point tries. Deer Creek finished the 2019 season with a 5-5 overall record and 3-4 in 6A-II District 1.

Southmoore comes into the game with a 0-1 record after opening its regular season with a 28-10 loss against Booker T. Washington. Josh Norman, who was a tight end on OU’s 2000 national championship team, begins his first season as head coach. Senior punter/kicker Cameron Little is an Arkansas Razorbacks commit. The Sabercats hope to improve on their 1-9 record from last season, 1-6 in 6A-I District 2.
