URI Women's Basketball

Tammi Reis’ URI Rams have generally been a very good second half team.  After leading leading by as many as 20 points in the 3rd quarter, URI went 12 minutes without a point.  This allowed BU to cut the lead to 2 with 2:25 left.  This is where Emmanuelle Tahane took over.

Tahane scored five points in the final 2:25 to make sure Rhody held on for the win.

Tahane hit a layup and then a free throw to push the lead to 50-44. Williams and Dolly Cairns each hit a pair of free throws in the final 18 seconds to help the Rams ice the win.

Next up URI will start Atlantic 10 play by hosting Dayton from the Ryan Center on New Year’s Day.  That game can be seen on Yurview, Cox channel 4 Live at 1pm.
