Brewster’s Jalen Lecque Could Jump Straight to the NBA

Jalen Lecque Brewster

Year in and year out, New England prep schools showcase numerous high-major college basketball recruits. Perhaps no other school has produced as much college and NBA talent than Brewster Academy, and this year is no exception.

While Brewster coach Jason Smith has a future Ohio State Buckeye (Alonzo Gaffney) and Texas Longhorn (Kai Jones) on his team, guard Jalen Lecque has garnered immeasurable buzz with his elite physical traits. Currently, he’s slated for NC State, but that could change as he completes his fifth year of high school and could potentially jump straight to the NBA after this season with the Bobcats.

That season will continue for one more day, as Brewster won twice in the National Prep Championship today, defeating powerhouses IMG Academy this morning and then Woodstock Academy this evening in the quarterfinals. The semifinals of the NPC will be played on March 7th at 11am and 1pm, and will be streamed live here on yurview.com before the 7pm game where a National Champion will be crowned. Lecque had 12 points and 15 points in the two games today, in front of NBA scouts and decision-makers.

Regardless of how the National Prep Championship turns out for Brewster, it’s clear that there are many interested parties watching every basketball move Jalen Lecque makes.
