Debbie Martinez serves as the project Chief Engineer and Technology Manager in the Space Operations Program Office (SOPO) in Exploration & Space Operations Directorate (ESOD) of NASA.

She is also the Technical Deputy Project Manager for Orion Abort Flight Test (AFT) / Flight Test Article (FTA) Project in the Flight Projects Directorate (FPD).

Since 1996, Martinez has been the NASA LaRC Hispanic Advisory Group (HAG) chair for the Hispanic Employee Program (HEP) and the HEP site webmaster.

As HAG chair, she has helped promote contact with and exposure to NASA LaRC Hispanic employees, the local Hispanic community and Hispanic organizations and professional societies.

She continues to provide awareness of relevant issues and events via the HEP web sites and her monthly e-newsletter, HEP@NASA LaRC.

Martinez supports various NASA Langley Office of Equal Opportunity Programs (OEOP), such as the Federal Women’s Program (FWP) and HEP.

She continually supports center educational outreach efforts via projects like the CERES S’COOL Project and the NASA Langley Speakers Bureau.

Pugs U Gotta Save ( P.U.G.S. ) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to rescue and tending to the needs of abandoned and surrendered Pugs in Virginia!

P.U.G.S. fosters abandoned and surrendered Pugs from animal shelters, puppy mills and from owners unable to continue caring for their dog.

Our ultimate goal is to permanently place homeless pugs into forever homes with loving families.

While in our care, we provide our Pugs with a loving foster home, address the Pug’s medical needs and provide any behavioral training needed to ensure that our dogs will transition well into their new forever homes.

We also offer public education on the Pug breed and on the unique responsibilities of Pug ownership.

And to close with music, the beautiful Virginia Beach Jazz singer Jennifer Gammill.

Jennifer has graced the stages of Hampton Roads for the past 14 years, performing as a vocalist with the Doorway Singers, flautist with Celtica, a soloist with Beach Street USA, and a regular jazz performer at Gershwin’s restaurant.

Trained in the classical tradition, Jennifer’s journey has taken her through contemporary worship music, singer-songwriter, jazz, with her most recent accomplishment a phenomenal album combining jazz and singer-songwriter sensibilities.

Heart, Soul & Fire won the 2019 Veer award in the jazz category.

She debuted at Havana Nights Jazz Club in 2013.

Since then, she has performed with live jazz quartets at the 2016 Winter Blues Jazz Fest, Town Center in Virginia Beach, Triangle in Williamsburg, Warwick Forest, Jamestown Settlement, The Freight Shed as part of the Cabin Fever series, as a soloist with the Jae Sinnett Trio, and at the new venues Varia in Norfolk and the renovated Cavalier Hotel on the Virginia Beach Oceanfront.
