Ford High School Weekly

YurView will debut a new 30-minute show on May 5th that will give viewers a behind-the-scenes, in-depth glimpse into players, coaches, administrators and everything in between that helps make high school athletics such a phenomenon in Oklahoma.

Ford High School Weekly will air Tuesdays at 6:30 pm CST on YurView Cox Channel 3. Complete episodes, as well as additional interviews and content, will also be available at Yurview.com/ok.

Ford High School Weekly will be hosted by former Oklahoma State football letterman Deion Imade. Imade has been a color analyst and sideline reporter on YurView’s high school telecasts since 2015.

“It’s going be fun,” said Imade. “The thing I’m excited about is we’re going to get to talk to a lot of coaches in-depth. Normally we hear from them before the game, at halftime and after the game. Now we’re going to see what it takes for these guys to get up and coach and teach and mentor these kids.

“We see these kids perform on Thursday and Friday nights,” added Imade, “but you don’t know where they’re coming from, what their motivation is, how much work goes into executing on the field. We’re going to get to talk about all of that on Ford High School Weekly.”

The debut episode will include interviews with Owasso football coach Bill Blankenship and WeOkie Outreach Director Chris Sackett. Blankenship talks about his distinguished career as a high school football coach and also discusses his personal fight against cancer. WeOkie sponsors YurView’s high school football halftime feature, WeOkie Kick for Cash, on Oklahoma City-area broadcasts.

“Sports shows are evolving,” stated Imade. “Everyone has a computer now, everyone with a computer has a camera. Everyone has a cell phone. Everyone with a cell phone has a camera. So we’re getting an opportunity to speak to these guys face-to-face virtually. It’s great that we can capitalize on this.”
