Friday night brings another marquee high school football matchup to Yurview, as 5-1 St. Thomas More takes on 3-3 Teurlings Catholic. The game can be seen at 6:30pm CT on Yurview Louisiana for customers of Cox Communications and will also be streamed live on Yurview.com.
Coach ‘Em Up
This is an interesting coaching matchup, as this game features two head coaches at different places in their careers. For St. Thomas More, who is coming off their first state championship, Jim Hightower is a Louisiana Sports Hall of Famer who has won over 400 games.

On the other sideline will be Dane Charpentier, who replaced his father Sonny as head coach of the Rebels after 22 years and nearly 200 wins. He’s certainly seen a lot of Teurlings football in his life, and he’ll get a crack at the defending state champion across the field on Friday night.

The Two-Back System
But…we’re talking about quarterbacks here, not runnings backs. The Cougars run two-signal callers out there; Peyton Landry is more of a option/wildcat/running QB while Caleb Holstein can sling it in passing situations. Either could hand off to their three-headed backfield.
Experience the Difference?
With all those run/pass combinations going on with St. Thomas More’s offense, it’s a good thing that Teurlings Catholic has returned eight starters from last season. They’ve played a lot of football together, so communication could be sharper and confusion limited on the defensive side of the ball for the Rebels.

QB Wesley Blazek – Teurlings Catholic
He routinely throws for three scores while leading an offense that averages 26 points per game.
RB Chris Primeaux – St. Thomas More
He broke one for a 71 yard touchdown last week against Westgate, and it’s not like that is unusual for him.

OL Thomas Perry – Teurlings Catholic
He leads the way for the Rebels, and the Rebels follow. Or he protects Blazek. Either way, he anchors the offensive line with Justin Matthews an is committed to LSU in 2019.
DE Elliot Rountree – St. Thomas More
Any defensive lineman who has multiple touchdowns on the season is worth watching.
