Liberty vs Pinnacle: What You Need to Know

Liberty and Pinnacle will meet in an intriguing inter-conference matchup Friday night. These two programs are a combined 13-1 entering this week.

The game will be broadcast live on Yurview Arizona for customers of Cox Communications and will also stream live on Yurview.com.

Aiming Higher in 2018

Both Liberty and Pinnacle at least made their conference quarterfinals last postseason, but with each starting 2018 blazing hot, they have their eyes set higher this fall.

After its 49-34 victory against Boulder Creek last week, Liberty improved to 7-0. Liberty’s biggest stars are on defense, but they have scored at least 49 points in five of their seven games this year.

The Pinnacle offense has arguably been even better. Pinnacle is averaging more than 49 points per game and has scored more than 50 points four times.

Pinnacle’s lone loss came against JSerra Catholic on Sept. 8, but the offense still scored five touchdowns in the, 42-35, defeat.

Players to Watch

QB Spencer Rattler – Pinnacle

This guy is the real deal. Rattler is the only 5-star Arizona prospect and sits as the No. 1 pro-style quarterback in the 2019 recruiting class according to 247Sports.

Rattler reportedly received more than a dozen offers from FBS schools. He committed to Oklahoma in June.

DE Braxten Croteau – Liberty

A 3-star prospect, 247Sports ranks Croteau as the No. 10 Arizona recruit in the 2019 class. He is also one of the top 50 defensive ends in the class.

Croteau has reportedly received seven offers and committed to Cal in April.

OLB Ryan Puskas – Liberty

Standing at 6-foot-3 and 210 pounds, Puskas is the 27th-best recruit in Arizona and is inside the top 100 outside linebackers in the 2019 class.

Just like his teammate, he committed to Cal in April.
