Although it feels like we just celebrated the holidays, we are moving into month number two of 2026. And like
January, February is typically a cooler month here on the Ninth Island of Las Vegas. Daily highs range from
low 50’s to mid-60’s on a good day. Overnight, we cool down into the chilly temperatures in the 30’s and low
40’s. We can even reach freezing temperatures overnight and we have actually had snow during the month of
February. Yes, it can snow in Vegas, but it’s pretty rare and doesn’t last. Of course, if you’re looking to enjoy
some snow here in Las Vegas, you can venture out to Mount Charleston to play in the snow, as well as ski and
snowboard at Lee Canyon.

And if you’re looking for something to do outdoors that is uniquely Vegas, check out Dig This. We recently
filmed with them for our television show and had a blast! Dig This is truly an adult sandbox where you can
operate construction equipment and even crush cars. They are a family-friendly Vegas attraction, where
children as young as two can participate. For more information, visit their website www.digthisvegas.com

February 17th is Lunar New Year, and it’s the Year of the Fire Horse. Of course, there are various celebrations
throughout the Las Vegas Valley, including Chinese New Year in the Desert Festival, which will be held 2/19-
21. There’s also the Spring Festival Parade on 2/21 that takes place in the Fremont East District with an after
party at The Downtown Container Park. Of course, Bellagio has their Lunar New Year display up, which will be
open 24/7 until the end of the month.

Now the locals know this, but those visiting may be surprised to see all of the construction happening here in
the Vegas Valley. On the Strip, the former Mirage is transforming into the Hard Rock, with renovations to the
standing building, as well as the highly anticipated guitar-shaped tower. While Hard Rock is not expected to
open until 2027, the project seems to be moving along.
