A nightmare fourth quarter ensured that Wichita State women’s basketball did not extend its winning streak to three games against Temple.
The Owls outscored the Shockers, 27-4, in the game’s final 16:08. Temple won 65-40 at Charles Koch Arena on Saturday.
Raven Prince sliced into the lane to grab an offensive rebound and put-back with 6:08 left in the third quarter to get Wichita State (9-12, 2-6) within 38-36. The Shockers scored just four points the rest of the game, shooting 4 of 25 in the second half.
Freshman Carla Bremaud led Wichita State with 12 points and 4 rebounds. Carla Bremaud was the team’s only other player in double figures with 11.
The Shockers had no answer for Mia Davis, who poured in 30 points to go with 13 rebounds for the Owls (7-14, 3-5), which managed to win their third consecutive game.
Wichita State next plays at Memphis. Tip-off is scheduled for 7 p.m. CT at Elma Roane Fieldhouse.
