Is This Allan Trimble’s Last Season As Coach?

It’s been 14 months since Jenks football coach Allan Trimble was diagnosed with ALS, or Lou Gehrig’s Disease.  He spoke with the Tulsa World at the MidFirst Bank Backyard Bowl news conference, specifically about how this may be his last season as head coach.

“In (the head-coaching) role, it would probably have to be, I would think,” Trimble said. “I’m on the new, latest (ALS medication). We’ll see. Hopefully, it will slow it down a little bit. That’s what it’s supposed to do.”

Trimble has had a legendary career – he’s been at Jenks High School for 21 Years, leading them to 224 career wins and counting, including 13 State Championships & 15 District Championships. More important is the impact he’s made on his family, players, and the community.

A fundraising effort has been set up by the Trimble Strong organization to help Coach Trimble and his family in their battle with ALS. Click here for more information.
