The Union Redskins annihilated the Enid Plainsmen 99-47 in their opening game of the Jenks/Union Invitational Thursday night at Union’s UMAC.
Michiah McQuarters was instrumental for Union (10-3) with a game-high 23 points, while Ira Richardson (16) and Mo Garcia (14) were also key in the win.
Union was 5-of-15 from the 3-point mark and only had 7 turnovers. Enid turned the ball over 21 times.
The Redskins will face Booker T. Washington in the semifinals Friday at 5:30 p.m
“You know, it’ll definitely be a step-up in competition, so we’ll be facing a talented team Friday,” Redskins head coach Rudy Garcia said. “We have our work cut out for us, so it was nice some of our guys during the fourth quarter. We will have to refocus and play some quality ball.”
Union has now won six-straight games.
Carlos Menefield led Enid with a team-high 11 points. Enid will play Holland Hall at 8:30 p.m. Friday.
