Thompson, Booker T. Washington demolish Holland Hall 85-58

The Booker T. Washington Hornets easily defeated the Holland Hall Dutchman 85-58 in the first round of the Union/Jenks Invitational at Union High School Thursday evening.

Hornets’ Bryce Thomson (22), Trey Phipps (20) and Jaycson Bereal (20) were too much for the Dutchman defense, who all combined for 62 points in the win.

“I thought we played well,” Booker T. head coach Conley Phipps said. “We played great offensively. We shared the ball and we opened the tournament on a good note.”

Holland Hall forward Brock Davis scored the first 10 points for the Dutchman in the first quarter. He finished the night with 17 points.

“We moved the ball a lot and we got into the transitions well and I think that’s what helped us get the win tonight,” Bereal said. “We have a lot of good players and if we share the ball, I don’t think anyone can beat us.”

Booker T. advances to play the winner of the Union/Enid game Friday at 5:30 p.m. and Holland Hall will play the loser of the Union/Enid game at 8:30 p.m.
