Papillion South vs Bellevue West Preview

Papillion South and Bellevue West, two teams who advanced to the Nebraska Class A playoffs last season will put their 2-0 records on the line when they meet in Week 3 this Friday.

The game will be broadcast live on Yurview for customers of Cox Communications and will also stream live on Yurview.com.

Firing on all cylinders

Papillion South began its season with a, 36-25, victory against rival Papillion-LaVista and then edged Gretna by a point last Friday. While Papillion South trailed early versus its rival in Week 1, the program’s 14-0 halftime lead versus Gretna barely held up to stay undefeated.

As for Bellevue West, they needed overtime to defeat Lincoln, 49-43, in Week 1, but then they absolutely trounced rival Bellevue East, 81-6, last week. Bellevue West tallied 62 points in the first half, including 34 in the first quarter, in the romp.

Papillion South and Bellevue West have met every season since 2012, and while some bad blood may have developed over the decade, Papillion South is still looking for its first victory of the series during that time.

Most of the games haven’t been close either. Bellevue West has posted a 19.5-point average margin of victory in the six contests since 2012.
