For the second straight year, Midwest City and Bixby will meet in the Oklahoma Class 6A-II semifinals.
Can anyone say déjà vu? Just like last season, Midwest City and Bixby are squaring off for the right to play for the Class 6A-II championship.
Last season, Bixby beat Midwest City, 14-12, but then fell in the title game to Booker T. Washington by a touchdown. That loss ended a three-year reign for Bixby winning the Class 6A-II championship.
In the hopes to reclaiming its throne, Bixby had another impressive season, going 10-1. They are trying to win a state title with just one loss for the second time in program history and the first time since 2014.
Of course, Midwest City is no slouch, as the team comes into Friday at 9-2. If they beat Bixby, Midwest City would tie its win total of from last season.
In the first round of the playoffs, Bixby destroyed Lawton, 70-14, while Midwest City annihilated Sapulpa, 56-35. The winner of Bixby-Midwest City will face the victor of Stillwater vs. Washington in the championship game.
