Midwest City’s Jalen Redmond officially signed with the University of Oklahoma on Wednesday.

The 6’4” defensive end was an impact player for the Bombers as he pressured quarterbacks and confounded opponent blocking schemes. He received offers from a number of schools including Oklahoma State, Tulsa, Notre Dame, Arkansas, Georgia, Nebraska, Ole Miss and TCU, before ultimately deciding to become a Sooner.

After signing, Jalen Redmond talked about why he chose OU.

“I chose OU,” he said, “because of the family they have there and the bond with all the players.” And though today was a huge accomplishment, he knows he’s just getting started.

“I see a big future ahead of me. If I work hard, I have a lot of things to accomplish.”

Jalen Redmond joins an impressive home-grown recruiting class that includes Westmoore’s Brey Walker, Union Safety Patrick Fields, and Defensive Tackle Jordan Kelley.
