Edmond Sante Fe vs Jenks

After relatively disappointing 2017 seasons, both Jenks and Edmond Santa Fe are back in championship contention. Oklahoma fans could be getting a sneak preview of a Class 6A-I playoff matchup when these two programs meet this Friday.

The game will be broadcast live on Yurview Oklahoma for customers of Cox Communications and will also stream live on Yurview.com.

Championship Preview?

Both Jenks and Edmond Santa Fe enter this week with 7-1 records. Together, these two programs combined to win just 12 games a season ago, so each team has already surpassed its record from 2017.

Interestingly, Edmond Santa Fe and Jenks both suffered their loss this year on the road to Broken Arrow, who remains undefeated at 8-0.

Assuming Broken Arrow maintains the No. 1 seed in the playoffs, earning the second seed right behind them could be key to reaching the championship round. Class 6A-I is full of great teams, but the No. 2 seed avoids playing Broken Arrow until the title game. The winner of this Jenks-Edmond Santa Fe matchup will have the inside track to that No. 2 seed with just one week left in the regular season.

As for Edmond Santa Fe, they would also like to snap their losing streak against Jenks. That would go a long way towards building their player’s confidence right before the playoffs. Jenks has beaten Edmond Santa Fe in five straight contests, including each of the last four years.

Players to Watch

According to the 247Sports rankings, Ford is the No. 6 Oklahoma prospect and one of the top two defensive linemen in the state. The same ranking system lists him as the No. 38 defensive end in the entire 2019 class.

Naturally, Ford received several offers from Power 5 schools. In August, he committed to Oklahoma State.

OT Brady Latham – Jenks

Standing at 6-foot-5 and 287 pounds, Latham has risen to the No. 11 Oklahoma recruit and the 101st-best offensive tackle in the 2019 recruiting class according to 247Sports.

He received seven offers, most of which came from smaller schools, but Latham committed to Arkansas in September.
