Edmond Memorial vs Broken Arrow

Broken Arrow will place its undefeated record on the line Thursday against struggling Edmond Memorial. At 8-0, Broken Arrow has already won more games than the team did all of last season.

The Ford Game of the Week will be broadcast live on Yurview Oklahoma for customers of Cox Communications and will also stream live on Yurview.com.

Undefeated streak

Broken Arrow last competed for the state championship in 2015, but they fell to Jenks in the title bout. After a couple average years, Broken Arrow is back in title contention, having started this season at 8-0.

Their record isn’t a mirage, either, as they have defeated opponents by an average of about 35 points. Broken Arrow’s eight victories also includes wins against defending champion Owasso and Jenks.

On the other sideline, Edmond Memorial is experiencing another tough season. They come into this week at 2-6 and have lost five of the last six games. Edmond Memorial did win last week, though, defeating Enid, 42-20.

Players to Watch

OLB Zach Marcheselli – Broken Arrow

The Broken Arrow defense is absolutely stacked with talent, as it features two Top 25 2019 Oklahoma recruits and an elite 2020 prospect. 247Sports ranks Marcheselli, who stands at 6-foot-2 and 220 pounds, a 3-star recruit and the No. 9 Oklahoma prospect in the 2019 class.

He committed to TCU in June.

Broken Arrow’s other two elite defensive prospects are defensive tackle Demeco Roland and cornerback Myles Slusher. Roland, who committed to North Texas in July, is the No. 25 Oklahoma recruit in the 2019 class while Slusher is the No. 3 2020 prospect in the state.

WR Dakari Charlton – Edmond Memorial

In addition to receiver, the senior wideout plays cornerback and a little running back as well. In the first three games this season, Charlton scored four of Edmond Memorial’s six touchdowns.

He must be the best player on the field in order for Edmond Memorial to stay competitive Thursday.

OT Andrew Raym – Broken Arrow

As if the No. 3 prospect in the 2020 class wasn’t enough, Broken Arrow also possesses the top recruit in the junior class. In addition to holding the top spot in Oklahoma, 247Sports ranks Raym as a 4-star prospect and the No. 51 recruit in the country.

He has reportedly received offers from the best programs around the nation, including Alabama, Georgia, Oklahoma, Notre Dame, Michigan, and Auburn.
