Ardmore vs Noble

In a rematch of the 2017 Class 5A quarterfinals, Ardmore will look to stay undefeated against Noble on Friday night. This should be a fun one.

Seeking Revenge

The last time Ardmore lost was in that quarterfinals matchup against Noble. Since the 28-14 defeat, Ardmore has won eight straight to begin this season and would love nothing more than to make it nine in a row by avenging last season’s playoff loss.

Another loss for Noble could also knock them out of the playoffs. Noble comes into this week at 3-5, which puts them right on the edge of the playoff picture. They need to win their last two games to finish .500.

This scenario sets up Ardmore with an opportunity to not only extend its winning streak but also eliminate the squad that pushed them out of the playoffs just last year. Ardmore would also clinch the Class 5A title with a win.

Of course, Noble is seeking to break Ardmore’s hearts one more time by staying alive in the playoff hunt and ruining their perfect season.

Last season’s playoff meeting is the only one between Ardmore and Noble in the last five years.

Players to Watch

RB Eean Ross – Ardmore

The senior is one of about six running backs Ardmore can feature in the ground attack. He scored a pair of touchdowns in last week’s 34-7 victory against Duncan.

QB Hayden Lingle – Noble

Without his star running back Danny Arebalo this season, the Noble coaching staff asked Lingle to do more, and he’s come through often. Last season, Lingle threw for more than 2,500 yards and 26 touchdowns; he should be in the same statistically neighborhood at the end of this season.
