His first tip is to educate yourself about the home buying process.

financialNext, sit down with a housing counselor so you can figure out just where you stand, and what you need. You will figure out if you need financial assistance, and if you do- the counselor can educate you on the resources that are available to you.

creditAs adults, we all need to learn to stop spending and start saving. This is especially true when starting the home buying process! Financial wellness is so important when buying a house!

When you first get started, the number one rule is NO NEW CREDIT!

housingMr. Taylor says you should take about 6 months to get your finances and credit in order prior to starting the home buying process.
